    What Is Plasma Rotating Electrode Process (PREP) System?

    The high-speed rotating electrode (raw material) is melted by the plasma arc under the protection of the high purity inert atmosphere, and the molten metal is thrown out by big centrifugal force to be atomised by the inert atmosphere and condensed into spherical powders when contacting to the internal wall of the cold chamber.

    Which metal powders can be produced by PREP System?

    PREP plasma rotary electrode atomization metal powder making equipment is mainly used to produce nickel-based high-temperature alloy powder, titanium alloy powder, stainless steel powder, and refractory metal powder, etc. The powder produced is of high quality and is widely used in electron beam selective melting, laser melting deposition, spraying, hot isostatic pressing, and other fields.

    The metal or alloy is made into self-consuming electrode bar stock, and the end face of the electrode rotating at high speed is melted by plasma arc, and the centrifugal force generated by the electrode rotating at high speed throws out the melted metal liquid to form small droplets, which are cooled at high speed in the inert gas and solidified into spherical powder particles.
